Nov. 5 through 11 was National French Week, and the Gardner-Webb French department planned several events for the week.

The week kicked off with a mancala tournament on the quad on Wednesday.

On Thursday, all the stations in the cafeteria, the except deli and salad bar, had a French twist to them, even desserts," said Doug Allen, from dining
services.

Friday, a dance party was held at the University Commons Clubhouse.

The week finished with karaoke in the Clubhouse Monday night and a French film will be presented tonight at 7 p.m. in Blanton auditorium.

Laurie Davis, president of the French Club and Pi Delta Phi of the National French Honor Society, organized the entire week.

"The American Association of Teachers of French wants to help the community become involved in French activities," she said. "It lets them know how the
French culture affects the French society."
Davis encouraged everyone to try the activities.
"You never know what you're going to learn," Davis said. "You never know what ís going to be fun."
