"There's no place like home," said Dorothy as she clicked her heels together.

Like Dorothy, many Gardner-Webb students, alumni, faculty and staff feel the same way.

There is no place like GWU.

Homecoming 2003, themed "The Wizard of Oz," kicked off last week, culminating with a victory for GWU men's basketball on Saturday night.

Homecoming involved events like a Powder-Puff football game on Friday night, the "Ruby Red Slippers" Homecoming dance, a win against Charleston Southern University for the GWU football team and the Homecoming parade.

The festivities opened with the Newsong concert on Thursday night in the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center.

Friday night, the northside girls took home the victory in the Powder-Puff game.

The annual tradition continued on Friday night with the rolling of the campus. Students woke up Saturday morning to toilet paper, blanketing the campus.

Homecoming climaxed on Saturday with a parade and float decorating contest. The Honors Student Association won the float contest with their theme of "If I only had a brain."

Senior Linsdey Warner was crowned Homecoming Queen 2003 during Saturday's game
